I’ve been quite discouraged about politics for the better part of a decade. I’d been asking for awhile why our government officials don’t seem to follow the Constitution. Why isn’t there someone on the floor of the House or Senate standing up and saying that they don’t have the constitutional authority to pass the legislation they’re proposing? It seems they don’t care a lick about the Constitution.

Then a few weeks ago, I discovered Ron Paul on the internet. It’s pretty difficult to miss him if you spend any time out here in the internet world. He’s running for President in 2008 and he’s the only candidate who really cares about the oath of upholding the Constitution. In fact, he’s the best candidate I’ve ever seen. He HAS been standing on the floor of the House for 10 terms voting no when a bill is unconsitutional. Needless to say, Ron Paul’s writings and speeches have completely rejuvinated me. I have never been this excited about politics in America.

This excitment about Ron Paul and the potential for his campaign means that I’ve been talking about him a lot lately. And I’ve been reading every article I can find that Ron Paul has written. There are a ton of them. I’ve learned so much about the role of government and public policy by reading Ron Paul’s consistent and logical views. I don’t think I really understood what freedom meant before reading Ron Paul’s book. All of this learning and excitement can certainly start to aggravate people when I have trouble talking about other things. :) My wife Kelly is sick and tired of hearing about Ron Paul. And so are my family and friends. They’re all voting for Ron Paul of course, they’re just sick of hearing me talk about him.

That’s why I’ve created this blog. I’ll have an outlet to share the things I’m learning about liberty and government and I won’t overload the people around me.
